Years ago as an experiment in Christchurch I grew kumara in my raised garden. At the end of the season I thought they hadn’t developed into anything, but as I followed a root down I actually ended with a good harvest – but they were at least elbow deep in the soil and were mostly small. So it seems these pots will be ideal – I can’t wait to try again. (I got my slips just from putting pieces of kumara in a tray of water like in a classroom. When there was lots of green growth I put them straight in the ground.)
