We have a rhubarb plant where most of the leaves have been eaten. we can’t find any bugs on the leaves. Does anyone know what may be eating it as there is no damage to the stalks.

First year crop on tubers planted. Gave long thick red stalks at first but has taken to wanting to produce seed heads galore Long thin green stalks otherwise.
Would it be the wrong climate at the top of the north island, I am unable to find a cool spot for it to grow.

I have been growing rhubarb for over 10 years, but the last two years the stalks have been very short, about 6 inches. I divided a plant a couple of years ago and gave half to a friend who has amazing rhubarb from my plant. It looks like the same thing is happening this time as well….short stalks. What am I doing wrong?
